Give 'Em Enough Rope Hot Johnny

This is part three of a semi-regular series wherein I tell You, the viewing audience, how poor your taste in music is -- and then proceed to force my own opinions down your gullet, packing it in good and tight with with the ol' boot there.
Thumbs Up
It’s best not to fight it.

Enjoy. (Oh, and as usual, I swear only by the tracks listed, as in most cases I haven't had a chance to listen to the albums yet).

Sunset Rubdown – 'Us Ones in Between'. There are thousands of gothed-out girls all across the nation, depressed that the only thing they have to look forward to in life is the next Depeche Mode album. Fortunately, you and I and the rest of the world have Spencer Krug and his band. (thanks, So Much Silence) ... Oh, what the heck, here's one more song, Stadiums and Shrines II, just because it's such a great track. (thanks, Stereogum)

Lions in the Street - 'Lady Blue'. Yes, they do cop a classic rock sound. But then again, I don’t remember anyone goin’ up to Mozart and saying, “Hey, Mozart. Someone’s already done classical music. Ya got anything else?” (thanks, An Aquarium Drunkard)

Syd Barrett – 'Dark Globe'. You’ve probably been thinking, “So? What’s the big fuckin’ deal? He didn’t help tear down the wall.” (thanks, Music for Maniacs)

Black Fiction - 'I Spread the Disease'. There is actually a book in the African-American fiction section of your local bookstore called “Momma’s Baby, Daddy’s Maybe” (no joke). Like Black Fiction, I'm still not sure what to think. (thanks, Gorilla vs Bear)

Danielson - 'Did I Step on Your Trumpet?'. This track is Chinese Water Torture put into song (Hey, I didn’t say they’d all be positive reviews). However, to its credit, repeated playing gives the listener an idea of how Stockholm Syndrome works. (thanks, You Ain’t No Picasso)

Today’s lesson: It’s T-minus five days and counting before I profess my undying love for Danielson and/or go mad. Ever seen "In the Mouth of Madness"? I picture it being something like that.
